EDUCATION FOR ALL

November 6, 2012

Daphne Koller’s inspirational talk at TED, June 2012

As educators the impact of what we offer and deliver should never be underestimated nor should the appetite for learning held by so many. Koller cites Thomas Friedman (2012) “Big breakthroughs happen when what is suddenly possible meets what is desparately necessary.” Koller and her colleague Andrew Ng founded Coursera which brings courses from some of the worlds top universities online and free to anyone who wants to take them. The structure and delivery of Coursera programmes is an innovative model, but the resulting communities of people learning and interacting together, worldwide, is inspiring.
